Does it matter if I’m at fault?

Fault does not matter in the State of Georgia. However, if you are NOT the at fault party, you MUST request your depreciation in value claim from the at fault carrier. They are not required to offer it to you.

Will my insurance go up if i file a diminished value claim?

No. Diminished in Value is legally included in any claim you file with your carrier.  While any claim to your insurance may cause your insurance to go up, the Diminished Value portion can not increase your rates.

How long does this process take?

After the free consultation, and once you have decided to contract our services we will begin gathering information and creating a report to send to the insurance company. This can take 2-3 business days. After the report is created we will send it to the insurance company. Typically the insurance company responds within 5 business days. At this point we enter negotiation with the insurance company. This often takes around 5-7 business days.  Once a settlement is agreed upon the insurance company will issue payment in the agreed amount to the claimant.

*Please note that these times are typical, but there are cases where the insurance company can take longer.  We do our best to expedite the process with written demand letters and regular calls to the insurance company.*

What is included in your services?

You may have found that other Diminished Value Appraisers appear to have lower prices. Make sure to ask what is included in their price. Often the lower price reflects that they are strictly providing you with a report that you then need to defend to your insurance company. Insurance companies often reject these reports as you may not have the understanding of how to defend or properly negotiate the number you are asking for.

Our licensed appraisers not only create the report, we go to bat for you. Each of our appraisers have at least 8 years of working for an insurance company before they come to work for us. They understand how to talk to the insurance company and how to defend your claim to get you your maximum value.

Our services are inclusive of a full report and valuation based off of Carfax Reports, Auto Checks, NADA Market Values, and full vehicle inspections to insure the vehicle was repaired to factory standards. We also consult with car dealers in your area to determine true market value. All of our services are inclusive of correspondence with the insurance company and full negotiations to completion of claim.  We are here to answer any of your questions along the way through unlimited calls or emails.

Do you have a flat rate or a sliding scale?

Our rates are a flat fee.  We do not charge a percentage of your settlement agreement.

Can my claim be denied?

During our initial consultation we have a series of questions that will verify whether or not you qualify for Diminished Value. If we determine that you do not qualify or you will not make more than our fee, we would suggest that you do not pursue this claim further.

Do you have a guarantee?

If for some reason the insurance company denies your claim, and you are not awarded more than our fee, we will refund the appraisers fee, minus the cost of producing the report.

Can my lawyer include this as part of my case?

Typically, lawyers do not deal with Diminished Value.  We are happy to assist you with this portion of the claim.

Are your appraisers licensed?

All of our appraisers are licensed in the State of Georgia.  Your appraiser will be happy to provide you with their license number which you can check at www.oci.georgia.gov
